Foundations for footbridge over flood drain.

The Environment Agency Constructor Unit laid solid concrete foundations for the bridge beams in September 2001.

Two twelve-meter hardwood beams (from a certificated source) were delivered to the site on 27 Sept 2001.

The beams each weighed 1.2 tonnes and had to be towed across the neighbouring farmer's field.

To save getting a crane to this remote site, the beams were winched across the flood drain, using a tractor and much ingenuity, on 1 October 2001.
