Unloading seat

Unloading veteran oak butt to act as seat - November 2004

The oak butts into which Martin Drew has carved seats are about 150 to 200 years old.  They came from Nuneham Woods.

They are so big that they had to be bedded into a trench dug by a JCB.

They have been anchored to fence posts to make shifting by floods less likely.

Several walkers have tried out the seats and all were enthusiastically in favour.
